Electronic Planner

This week started off a mess but is getting better as I am getting back on track in getting my schooling as my number one priority.

Sunday (Oct 13th)

Today was a slow day. I went to work, and afterward, I just came home and relaxed with my family. I didn’t make any progress on my classes or get ahead like I should have. While breaks are nice, I took too long of one, and now I’m slipping back into bad habits, feeling unmotivated to tackle my schoolwork.

Monday (Oct 14th)

Today felt a lot like yesterday (10/13). I worked from 10 AM to 8 PM, and when I got home, I spent time working on a game with my friend. It took some effort, as I had to modify the game from a single-player setup to allow multiple players. While it was fun, it wasn't school-related and was just for the sake of playing with my friend. At this point, I'm completely ignoring my planner—I even created an electronic one yesterday at work, but I've already neglected it, telling myself I need to relax since it's Fall Break.

Tuesday (Oct 15th)

Today was the last day of Fall Break, and with no school, I woke up feeling exhausted and couldn’t really get moving until around 11:30 AM when my mom asked if I wanted to go to some stores with her. I agreed, hoping it would help wake me up. We went to Denny’s and ran some errands, enjoying the time together. When we got home, I changed into 100% cotton clothes to safely forge, since I decided to take advantage of the free day and work on some Damascus. I left around 3 PM to pick up some metal, with the forge being about an hour away in Tempe. I arrived at Turner’s Warehouse at 4 PM and bought three one-foot-long bars of 1095 steel and seven four-inch bars of 15N20. I got to the forge by 4:30 PM, but had to wait until 5:45 PM to get started since I arrived early.

Once inside, I got to work. It took about two hours to cut the 1095 into four-inch bars, then I stacked them with the 15N20 in an alternating pattern. After welding them together, I began setting the welds, heating the metal to over 2,000°F and using a power hammer to crush the layers. Technically, I had created Damascus, but my goal is to reach around 240 layers to create a more intricate pattern than the current 15 layers. Afterward, I went home and collapsed into bed. Unfortunately, this day was a complete loss for my planner, as Tuesdays are usually my biggest day for homework, and I didn’t do any of it.

Wednesday (Oct 16th)

Today started with some unexpected news—my cousin, who’s pregnant, was admitted to the hospital due to some complications. Naturally, I was really concerned. I had plans to hang out with a friend and meet someone new, but we decided to reschedule. Instead, I went to visit my cousin to check on her. When I got there, I was shocked to find out she was still working from the hospital! Apparently, she’s almost out of paid time off, so she had no choice but to keep working. We talked for a couple of hours before the doctors came in to do some tests, and that’s when I left. After getting home around 2:30 PM, I decided to take care of a few things around the house—I cleaned the bathroom, tidied up my room a bit, and picked up the backyard after the dogs. Later, I spent time gaming with my friend from about 3:30 PM until 10 PM, then finally called it a night around 11-12 PM.
